Pam and Andy - The Dominican, the party, the wedding

Way back in January of 2010, Pam and Andy, their families and friends headed to the Dominican Republic for some sun, to party, and to get MARRIED.
Getting there was easy, getting my gear there, well that was tricky. As you know, many of the carriers are imposing very strict carry on restrictions. Ours was 5 kg...ummm...yeah my camera itself weighs more than that and there was NO WAY I was going to check my gear. Luckily, Pam was there to save the day...we'll leave it at that *Thanks Pam*. My gear (all of it), and I made it onto the plane and 5 hours later, tropical paradise!

The days leading up to the wedding day were really relaxed and I have to say the planning was impeccable. Pam and Andy really went all out to make sure everyone was looked after and even though we had a few days of nothing but torrential down pour we were having a blast.

During our days in the Dominican I got to know most of the family, their friends and the bridal party. Great great people! They were so laid back and easy going it made photographing the trip so much fun! That's what I worry about most. Pictures don't lie, and if the people you are photographing don't feel comfortable in front of the lens it shows. Thank goodness there was none of that, and I have to say as I write this I reminisce about dessert ribs, Kratos and class...sigh....good times.

As I said before, the days leading up to the wedding day were wet, VERY wet. I'll admit I was getting a little nervous but of course when the day actually arrived the skies cleared up and we had amazing weather and great photos too. :)

Thanks again Pam and Andy for letting me tag along and trusting me with the task of photography. I hope you enjoy the pictures and may they bring back many memories and feelings for years to come.

Ethan

This is my good friend Ethan, well to be honest he's more interested in hanging out with Kayden but I like to think that we're cool too. I went over to his place last weekend and wouldn't you know it...I just happened to have my camera with me. :p

Anyway here are a few shots of Mr. Ethan working the camera....

Chloe is one of my good friend's niece and last weekend we decided to get together to take some pictures. It took a while for her to warm up, and she needed a snack but once her tummy was full and she was used to me being around she was nothing but smiles!! Here are a few pictures that we took.

Family

Renee, Josh, Alex and I met up last weekend to take advantage of the great weather.
The goal was to take a few family pictures and to capture some solos of Alex who is turning the big number 1 this month!! Congratulations buddy, no more rice cereal and bland food for you. With the big number one comes a great buffet, welcome to the world of flavor!!

Mabel and Ricky

Mabel and Ricky are married! The weather forcast was for rain...lots of it!! What we ended up with was a slight over cast that turned into brilliant sunshine and nice warm weather. Well, that's what happened but the skies did look a little menacing, luckily it held up long enough for us to get out and snap a few.

Their wedding was co-ordinated very well and I credit this to their GM who ran a really really tight ship (which I think is a good thing) :)
Since we had the bridal shoot before their ceremony their GM had to keep the pace going and make sure that everything was running on time. This worked out great, we had some time for bridals, videographer had time to take his shots and we all made it to the church on time....what more can you ask for? He did all the stressing out so that Mabel and Ricky didn't have to...Great job Philip!

Pam and Andy

A few months ago...okay, (more like last year) my good friends Pam and Andy announced that they were getting married!! Being that we are such good friends I was incredibly honoured when they asked me to be their photographer!!

I love taking pictures for friends because everyone is relaxed and that makes for great moments. Even when we're not looking for anything in particular things just happen naturally and that's what makes for great photos!

We headed out to U of T just to hang out and took a few snaps while we were there. Heading back to the ol' stomping ground where I spent many a sleepness night brought back memories....sigh...funny thing is I started to miss those days, then I remembered finals, case studies and studying, yeah, not missing it that much anymore. :)

Here are a few of pictures to share..

Meeting Thomas the Tank Engine

My Wife, my boy and I drove 2.5 hours out to St. Thomas to meet Thomas the Tank Engine!
If you have kids, you know who Thomas is and all I have to say is, he is bigger in person! :P
The weather was a little sketchy with brisk showers here and there but it wasn't enough to dampen a great train ride and some fun Thomas related activities. It was totally worth the drive out there, afterall how often do you get to come face to face with a talking steam powered train engine???? :P
